Lovely meta-puzzles.  Thank you!

Currently stuck at the xylophone, wondering if I really have to have sound on, because I normally play everything without sound.

i'm glad you like the meta puzzles! it's such a fun concept in general and they were really cool to come up with and develop :>

you don't need to have sound on for this game, dw. there's a walkthrough available if you get stuck, but if you want just a hint:

(SPOILERS)

you'll need to use an item on the black rectangle on the left of the xylophone, and then check if any previous part of the game has given you a hint as to what to use the xylophone for.

wait no damn i'm an idiot! there is a part of the game that requires sound, how could i forget sjdjsjdj-

(MILD SPOILERS)

it's in the xylophone part!

I've been tempted by the walkthrough; I dislike using them, because, well, why bother playing if I'm just going to give up and follow someone's instructions when it gets difficult?  Anpyhow, as what I wrote above implies, I'm now unstuck...at least for the moment!

OK, finished it.  I concur with the opinions below: this is a set of absolutely deliciously evilly meta puzzles, beautifully reminiscent of THERE IS NO GAME.

thank you very much!! your feedback is very much appreciate, and i respect that you took so much time trying to solve that one puzzle haha. again, sorry for the mixup with my comment, i genuinely forgot you had to have sound on for that one part lol.

i tried to have everything be as intuitive as possible but like i've said before sometimes i definitely got tunnel vision, and certain parts weren't as easy to understand as i thought. and like you said, even if the walkthrough is available, just following it isn't super fun. i'll keep it in mind if i update this game, or make future puzzle games.

still, i'm really glad you enjoyed what i made, and thought the meta puzzles were clever! :D thank you for playing!! <3

Maybe it's just me, but I still don't see what sound had to be on for, unless you are somehow testing to see if the user has the tab muted.  (I'm using the in-browser version, which I assume is obvious in view of my speaking of muted tabs.)  I could have had the volume turned all the way down during that time and I can't figure any way it would have made any difference.

I can understand that flavour of tunnel vision.  I have it myself for my own software: what seems obvious to me often isn't to others.

Thanks again for a very enjoyable game!

well for that puzzle, the note progression had to be played in the cow mode (as described in the OXYCODONE letter), so you had to find the button that makes the xylophone play cow sounds :>

and yeah it's something i really struggle with, especially in my puzzle games haha.

oxymoron you! you! you! you! youyouyou devious delirious delicious furfevulous scrubtudious lexical element! Absolutely INSANE work on freaking RPGMaker of all things as always, your games continue to make bite my knees in shock and delight. I don't have the lifespan to sing all my praises to the gameplay, although I did have to look at the walkthrough more time than the epic gamer in me is proud to admit.

Everything in this game is shockingly good, the world is a better place with another oxymoron banger in it. Keep up the absolutely devious work!!!!

(1 edit) (+1)

aaaa thank you so much!! i was looking forward to your comment, and let me say that making people bite their knees in shock and delight is exactly my goal :>

i really wanted to push the boundaries and my knowledge of rpg maker, and a point and click puzzle game was pretty much the polar opposite of what the engine is supposed to do so of course i chose it haha. also making a point and click game has always been one of my life goals and rpg maker is the only engine i know how to use lol. it was challenging but really fun figuring out how to make everything work!

i'll fully admit i definitely suffered some tunnel vision with the puzzles. i tried to make them as intuitive as possible but i could've done a better job haha, and sometimes "this solution would be kind of funny/quirky" prevailed in my mind over "this solution would make sense", which is not great for a logic puzzle game lol. also you mentioning there is no game in your rating review is so cool cuz that was my main inspiration!! (wrong dimension is one of my fav games ever) meta puzzles like that, that both follow the game's logic and also break it, are suuuper fun and figuring out how to take a crack at it was a really neat process. i'm really glad you enjoyed what came out, and thank you for leaving a comment!! <3

the game is so brilliant, only you could make a proper review for it

(+2)

:O hehe thank you sm!!

tbh i was kinda worried about this game cuz it's such a big departure from my other ones (it's my only game with next to no horror elements haha), so i didn't know how it'd go. hearing you praise it means so much, i'm really glad you liked it!

thank you for playing!!! <3

10/10 game, I really enjoyed playing this and plan to try and speed run it in my spare time. I highly recommend to anyone who loves some good puzzles!!

(+1)

omg thank you so much!!

i'm really glad you liked it, and enough to speedrun it?? that's sooo cool and flattering aaaa! and it's kind of funny cuz in testing, sometimes i had to beat the entire game from the start haha, so i also kinda had to speedrun it! (hint: you can get to the phone call in 3 minutes :>)

thank you for playing!! <3
